Raising Healthy Golden Retriever Puppies for Families

Rusty

Rusty

This is Rusty. We had to hold on to him for a couple extra weeks because he had puppy strangles. Puppy strangles is a puppy disease that is pretty rare. It's a little like chicken pox except it's not contagious. Rusty has made a full recovery and it will not come back. We saw a little bit of bumbs on his chin and thought he had puppy acne which happens occasionally with some puppies. He saw the vet the day after we noticed the issue. Our vet felt his swollen lymph glands and diagnosed it as puppy strangles. He had to take medicine for this for two weeks. For the days that followed the vet visit, Rusty's poor little snout swelled up and he looked pretty miserable. He got scabby mostly on his chin, but also a little bit on his bottom eyelids. This was four weeks ago and he is super healed up since then. He has gotten so much extra care and attention, he just loves to be held. He really is a cuddler. The vet carefully checked him out after finishing his medicine and said he's healthy. And I am offering him with a one-year health guarantee.
